6/12/2006 - Today, Superior Court Judge James Warren decided the San Francisco Proposition H Lawsuit in NRA's favor. Judge Warren agreed with NRA that the ban was in violation of state premptive law designed to fully occupy the area of firearms regulation.
According to Judge Warren's decision, current law "demonstrates the Legislature's intent to occupy, on a statewide basis, the field of residential and commercial handgun possession to the exclusion of local government entities."
Said NRA Attorney Chuck Michel, "We're thrilled that the judge recognized that law-abiding citizens who possess firearms to defend themselves and their families are part of the solution and not part of the problem."
