On June 26, 2008, The United States Supreme Court ruled on the case
District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290) as to the scope of an
individual's right to keep and bear arms.
Justice Scalia, writing for the majority, ruled that the Second Amendment
does protect an individual's right to keep and bear arms. While it remains
to be seen what kinds of regulation will be permissible for the future,
today is clearly a victory for those who have held the traditional view of
gun ownership from the beginning.
